Description
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is powered by the new and improved Exynos 2100 with Mali-G78 MP14 GPU. The phone is packed with 12GB/16GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB of onboard storage that can not be expanded. The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G comes in Phantom Silver and Phantom Black colors, and it will also be available in Phantom Titanium, Phantom Navy, and Phantom Brown colors in some countries. The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is a powerful premium flagship smartphone that has a solid build quality, a good long-lasting battery, and a good set of cameras that are feature-packed.
Design
Last year’s S20 lineup was particularly egregious with that massive thing that just stuck out of that otherwise beautiful glass back. Now, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G still has a camera, right? But instead of jetting out, Samsung has made it this seamless piece of metal that smoothly flows from the metal rails of the phone onto the back. It is Samsung’s new contour cut design language, which features a metal camera bump that wraps around the edge and melts into the metal frame.
If you’re getting the base Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, you’ll have a choice of six colors, Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, Phantom Titanium, Phantom Navy, and Phantom Brown. The biggest design change on the Samsung Galaxy S21 models is the camera bump. The phone itself has Stylus support and has a  glass back made out of Gorilla Glass. It is its display that has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, not the back panel. It is also worth mentioning that the S pen won’t come with the S21 Ultra. You will have to buy one separately.
Cameras
It’s probably the cameras that make the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra outshine its siblings. Besides this 108-megapixel main camera and 12-megapixel ultra-wide, it has two telephoto lenses. A 10 megapixel, 10 times folded Periscope zoom, and a traditional three times zoom. Both have dual-pixel autofocus. And OAIS all four cameras output photos at 12 megapixels. This should make for a super versatile setup, similar to what we’ve seen from Huawei’s top phones. You’ll see a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera which is a 40-megapixel camera with auto-focus.
Dynamic AMOLED 2X display
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a dynamic AMOLED infinity display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It has a QHD 1440 x 3200 pixels resolution which is higher than most smartphone displays. And together with that supports us super fast 120 Hertz refresh rate. This refresh rate is adaptive to your content and can go as low as 10 Hertz to save energy.
Performance
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G fully supports 5G with support for both sub-six and millimeter-wave 5g, thanks to the integrated Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 / Exynos 2100 processor. It should work with whichever phone network you have (but 5G was not yet in Kenya at the time of this review). Finally, the phone’s interface. It’s Samsung’s one UI 3.1 based on the new Android 11. This one integrates plenty of features from the new Android version.
Battery
The complaint on battery life is quickly silenced at the mention of S21 Ultra’s Li-Po 5000 mAh, non-removable battery. The same support fast charging 25W, fast Qi/PMA wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging 4.5W. There is wireless charging if you need another way to charge your phone.
One thing that is not included in the box is a charging adapter just like with a new iPhone. If you don’t have an adapter at home, you’ll have to buy one. But there is support for up to 25-watt charging as well as fast wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. The battery life itself should be good though.
